Working With Your Print Shop (more effectively) is designed to help small businesses and individuals work effectively with their local print shops.
We talk about principles of design, define terminologies, and coordinate various electronic programs.
As people have access to more programs that help them design, we are able to print their designs with reduced set-up costs. The more you know about how to design with your print shop, the less the set-up cost will be on the final product.
WWYPS Tips is a function of DuMond Printing in Lyons, Kansas.
This print shop has been in business at the same location for many years. The current owner has been here since 1989.
We have seen many changes in the printing industry. When we first came to work here, negatives were shot in the darkroom and metal plates burned in a plate burner. We inked offset presses and managed four color separations.
Originals were created on a light table with printed type and taped lines.
Now we do virtually everything with computer, sending print instructions directly to our printers. Eye-hand coordination and precision work are still required for some of our gift items and sublimation printing.
The goals of perfection and quality product have not changed. DuMond Printing strives to put out the most nearly perfect product at the most reasonable cost.
